MMO - Unity Recruitment

Post by Last Known Hero »

Well, I think it's time for me to post this recruitment. This is for a MMO that is based on Fantasy/Realism. You can view the design document here: http://indie-resource.com/forums/viewto ... =35&t=1200.

This project is based on game play features like Final Fantasy XI, with more of a twist from our own ideas. I am hoping for moderate graphics and awesome gameplay that is not repetative. There will be a class and subclass system. Subclasses will consist of jobs, while primary classes will feature your fighting genre. As we progress I am hoping to recieve different fighting styles per genre. So a Warrior might have either 'brute force' or 'strategic' fighting stlyes while still remaining a warrior. Jobs will have alot to choose from, they will be things like Miner, Blacksmith, Forester, etc. These jobs will be done minigame style, same as inventing (for now I would be happy with chance invention and mining until we get more settled for the game).

The positions I will be looking for are:

Unity Programmer
Responsibilities:
- Knowledgable in Boo, JavaScript or C#
- Ability to point out what can and can't be done.
- Ability to make clean, logical flows of script.
Bonuses:
- Any of the above, I was aiming really high for those :P
- Previous MMO experience

Unity Graphical Asset Designer
Responsibilities:
- Able to create 3D models off of own imagination and descriptive text
- Able to modify textures or Create new textures
- Able to UV Map
- Able to make low poly models
Bonuses:
- Any of the above once again
- Previous MMO experience
- Able to rig

Unity Animation Artist
Responsibilities:
- Able to rig
- Able to Create loopable animations
- Able to create realistic, clean looking animations
Bonuses:
-Any of the above once more

These positions will be starting as of Saturday, January 16. If after the date, please feel free to still apply, the more people the merrier. :)

Hi sounds good, I'm no expert in Unity, but I do know JavaScript XD.
Even if you don't want me I would love to test it!

Of course I would love to have you. If anyone else wants to join go ahead and post here or PM, won't be starting until after my finals are done anyways.

I downloaded Unity just there. Made a bit of a box that moves about and jumps. Seems easy enough :D. I like the way it works so fast.

Nice timing :)

I just started my class for Unity this week. I'd love to join in with your group, as either a programmer or "Graphical asset designer".

Plus, any questions that we have about Unity I can ask my teacher and he can help.

Sounds good. I'm still learning a lot about the programming, but I learn quickly and already have a decent background in programming so it shouldn't be too hard to pick up.

I might not be able to help out full time, as I have a freelance job I'm working on, along with all of my classes starting up this week, but I'll put in as much as I can.

Don't worry about it, I understand that people can be busy.
