AAAAH! AMD
. Sorry dude but that's instant fail.
Get a Xeon with 32 cores or something.. That would make a pretty damn fast computer lol!.
Nah that's too expensive.
If you want cheap I'd get a AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition. Don't know what socket it uses.
500w power supply should do the job.

Maybe you can't get a Phenom II, but if you could pick up a Phenom or Intel i3 (not sure what fits your mobo), that would future-proof you for a while. At this point, Athlon and Dual Core are both quite old formats that haven't been used in well over a year.
If you can't afford to upgrade to a Phenom or i3 or i5 now, I would wait and try to save a bit more. Computer hardware value has a major curve where you need at least about $100 to get anything, but then small additional amounts of money will get you a lot more. It really is not worth buying something that is a couple of years old if what you currently have is still powering up and working. 110 pounds may get you something OK, but 175 may get you something 2x better that will keep you up-to-date twice as long.

Aren't fans really cheap? They sell them in the states for about $10 at Best Buy if you hook them up yourself.

well i suck when it comes to hardware :p
n i know you need a better one the more powerfull the proccessor. so i didnt know whether a bog standard one would do the trick on something like tht lol
if it does... then all is gravey (Y)

Honestly, I am not a hardware wiz either. In fact, working on computer hardware makes me kind of frustrated and queezy. Software I can handle.
All I know is that if your current rig is still functional the best thing to do is hold on to your money and save up a bit more, hock some stuff, or maybe hold out for some fund bumps from Christmas if you can't get a Phenom (preferably II) or an Intel i3 or i5. I say that because just a reasonable amount more money could keep you future-proofed for 3 or 4x longer than grabbing something last generation or older. If not, then you may be in the same position in just another year or so.
