Pacific Rim

Post by vitinho444 »

In one word: WOW

For an action movie it is great.
If you like watching GIANT robots boxing GIANT aliens then it is perfect!

I do have a bad review about the actors, I've never seen them before, so they must be B class actors, but the acting is no problem.

Storyline is well written.

I would give it a 9/10 just because i don't know if there can be something improved.

If it were just for the fighting scenes then a 15/10 ... Those are EPIC!

A must watch for sure.

A nice action movie, really enjoyed the fighting scenes and special effects.
I hope there will be a sequel to it.

Okay the whole concept of this movie smells worse than a dead skunk on the side of the road in summer.

"Big aliens are rising from the sea!"
" Oh lets build big robots to fight them!"

WTF really?

I have not seen the movie just because the entire concept is as about as bad as the stuff taken out of World War Z. Do you know hollywood originally filmed the zombies in WWZ to form a hand and grab the helicopter? Brad Pitt said "Hell no!"

No matter how good the fight scenes are I cannot watch something with such a goofy concept. I mean really. All that money spent on building a robot and they could not build a poison, bomb, whirling blades of death machine? Just silly.

Halls: I felt the same way when I first heard of this movie. I haven't seen it either, but everyone I've talked to that saw it, loved it.

I'll catch it when it comes around to Netflix :)

Halls you're right.

But you're wrong with this movie.
All that money spent on building a robot and they could not build a poison, bomb, whirling blades of death machine?
The aliens would keep coming unless the link between their world and ours was broken. So that rules out your methods :)

What they needed is what they did, some way to fight them until a chance to end everything.

You need to watch it first then critic :)
The fight scenes compensate after all in my opinion.

Halls, this is a special genre of movie called "Giant Monster/Robot". Godzilla started the genre in Japan, and very few of them are made here. But believe me, it is exactly what it is supposed to be lol. The extent of its deep, metaphorical meaning is that it looks cool when giant monsters and robots fight.
