IRC channel
Was thinking of setting up a IRC channel for Indie-Resource. How many would use it? I would even give projects/people their own channels for development and chat.
Re: IRC channel
Setting up an IRC server? Or channel, if its a channel on one of the main servers than people could set up their own channels anyway.
I tend to say that if people have to use their own client, they are less likely to use IRC. Coding a webchat makes people alot more willing to use it because then its well already there.

Re: IRC channel
I was going to setup a server. I do not like chatbox style systems, they are clunky and not that appealing.
Re: IRC channel
I say go for it. Being an IRCop is difficult work though, though I think there are some hosts that will do it for you. And like I said before, if you don't implement a webchat the bulk of the people are going to be less inclined to use it. Though this might be for the best as those hosts also have a tendency to limit how many users you can have connected at once.
Re: IRC channel
It has been quite a while since I have used irc. I still have my Mirc program. Though I would be a learner I would get on when I could.
Re: IRC channel
Just remembered, people can use chatzilla as well to connect.

Re: IRC channel
yes it is. I am going to have one for my next project so I thought I would go ahead and run a server, then let everyone have channels for their projects.
