Hi, im new on this community and im here becuse i want to develop a php game. i have been playing alot of php mmo games but now i want to develop my own, i got some experiense whit mysql, but not really a php programmer.

What i need is a good php engine becuse i want to make a php strategy game whit soliders, allys or clans, and a map where you can finde the villages to the other players on the server, a rank system wil also be nice. if i can point you in a direction of what i want the game engine to be like, its more like travian or tribalwars.

sorry for bad english, im norwegian and was never in the english class :p

Ok, i might not be much of help because i never used a engine for my games.. but since your game type is equal to mine i got my open sourced so you can use it if you want...

I dont know , jacko, it cant be called a engine i think... i never used one so i dont know...but i think it's just a open source game....

But yes, you can use it and when i get home i will upload the newest source, with new features.

Web-based game engines are kind of hard to pin down. Obviously it won't be anything like Unity, with built-in editors or anything like that. However, if it is a game with a clear way to edit the source code, I would call it an engine

Exactly. An engine. It is what powers or runs the whole game. Like an FPS Engine, RPG Engine, RTS Engine. It is usually the main mechanic that your game operates under. Games like Rage implement an FPS engine with an RPG engine. So yours would be a php style of MOG (Multiplayer Online Game). The first M of massive was a marketing term that resonated through the gaming community. Now you could say that to be massive, would be just like World of Warcraft with over a million subscribers.

I'm surprised no one has tackled to create a game similar to eRepublik, or an engine such as that. That game in the beginning was great, and then it took a huge turn into more the battling and the politic side but the economic side lacks horribly. It has been about 6 months since checking that out. Maybe I'll go through your engine to see if maybe I can tackle such a project? We will see.

I'm no expert, but just from what I've seen, experienced, and have played. Just my usual $0.02 if it helps.

And about the eRuplik "clone", well i dont know that game.. but my engine works for types of game where you control something big, and inside that you got troops... im using in a village mode, and troops to defend it... but if you would like to make like star wars, just change villages to death stars and its done xDD
