The Grey

Post by hallsofvallhalla »

I was highly highly disappointed in this movie. The director should have spent more time studying wolf habits, the effects of cold on the human body, human emotions, and overall Direction of a movie. Every last death was stupid to say the least. it had multiple mistakes and falsified human emotions and choices.

I expected this to be good and it failed by 10 miles.

The simple fact that the trailer showed wolves actively hunting a group of humans pretty much blew it out of the water for realism. But hey...they needed an enemy in the middle of nowhere, and a reason why they end up in polar bear country probably would have been even sillier lol. I already knew I wasn't going to see this one, though. Sorry it let you down!

Haven't seen it, but it'd be cool I think if you forshadowed a breed of wolves who act different to the rest - some ancient difference. Something else to them.

That said, yeah, bears will kill yo ass!

OR hippopotomuses's!

Hippo's are freakin' OP!

Oh if they had some back story about a special breed of wolves it might have been different BUT still would have been bad as the human emotions were crap.

Like grown men shown fighting and acting like roughnecks in the bar all of sudden get taken down by one wolf without a fight. The cold actually had little to do with the movie as well.

Eh? How does the wolf take them down without a fight? Maybe they confused Giegeresque Aliens and wolves as being the same? A wolf with a second mouth shooting out of its mouth, lol!

How on earth did they try and portray that? What, they show a wolf walking into the bar and cut away, then seconds latter they cut to the interior where already half a dozen men are dead? Sure this wasn't a comedy? I mean I could imagine the humans taking alot of damage, maybe a few dying even to sheer bad luck somehow. But really, one wolf?

Seriously some sort of supernatural cujo element needed to be plugged into the story.

But if it was - the idea of mega wolves invading civilisation strikes me as cool...

Perhaps a chemical spill that mutated them, or some nutso scientist trying to save the wolves from extinction, splices better genes into them.

I think if you add some sort of change, there's alot of potential. But yeah, as is, wolves stay away from people in real life for alot of good reasons!

Hippos, on the other hand - they probably don't seem scary enough for a movie. But what is rediculous is how scary they are...

LOL, yeah, I don't know how good of a horror/action movie they would make, but oddly enough, I have heard several times that the 2 worst animals you can run in to in the wild are hippos or elephants. Both of them kill more humans around the world each year per capita (per each animal individual that is) than nearly any other animal.
