While I wait for my artist to get going on some concept art for my main game, I've decided to start work on a new game that will end up being a totally integrated into Facebook. Here is a brief overview of Project CYOA:
Setting: Fantasy
Classes: None (Create your own)
Abilities: A mix of the classic warrior abilities, rogue, wizard, priest types. You chose two primary abilities and 2 secondary.
Stats: Strength, Intelligence
Graphic Style: Cartoon 2d.
Gameplay Style: Text based dungeon crawl.
System Overview:
Project CYOA is a choose your own adventure style game. All dungeons, encounters, and quests are completely dynamic. Your actions influence the next step in the story. Players will interact in one giant town.
The game will include (Modules)
Some (Modules) will have a specific starting and ending point but everything in between is completely dynamic.
Goal:
My hope with this is to recapture the glory days of Dungeons and Dragons without the need to have a Dungeon Master run a game for you. The system will be intuitive enough to make it feel as though you have some one running a game right there with you.
Since the game is tied into Facebook, I plan on having some enemies and obstacles be based on your Facebook profile. Say you have a friend on your friend's list you harass a lot. They may show up in the dungeon to try and stop you on your quest and other friend's may lend you aid. These friends don't even have to be playing the game to assist or meddle. As part of the dynamic system you may have a friend that ends up becoming a key villain or ally, showing up more frequently in your game. Friends playing the same module as you, while playing separately from you, may team up with you on the final boss battle or back stab you and make off with the treasure.

I love the idea of using your friends as enemies! I want to see my friends as boss monsters

There we go, finally someone else who isn't doing a stupid class based game. I'm making a game and your level is determined by how high your levels are.
