1. The Inbetweeners: Unfortunately, it is very hard not to miss an episode because each season is only 6 episodes long
This show is so great, but there are so few episodes
I highly recommend it.
Actually, that is my only "must see" TV show. I also watch Barclay's Premier League Football (soccer) religiously. I also enjoy watching the British Kitchen Nightmares with Gordon Ramsey (the American one sucks, and has shady editing and is over-dramatized lol). However, I could not really call that one "absolute must see", since I miss it all the time.
Wow, I watch a lot of British TV for an American lol

I agree with you on Top Gear - Jeremy Clarkson for Prime Minister I say.
And I have seen The Inbetweeners advertised, but haven't caught any of it yet.
Other than that, there was a series on a while ago called Surface, which I made sure I didn't miss.
I'm a fan of Mock the Week and Have I got New For You, I watch those without fail. I just love people taking the mick out of each other and everyone else for that matter
But I do make the mistake of having the TV on while I'm working on the computer and nine times out of ten, I plan to watch something, then totally forget its on as I get too engrossed in whatever I'm doing =_=

You must see The Inbetweeners. It is one of the funniest TV shows I have ever seen; even more so than the first two seasons of Trailer Park Boys, which I had previously figured was the funniest thing I had ever seen on TV. It is sort of like Skins (some of the same people who worked on it), except take out the drama parts, make it brutally more realistic of what adolescents is typically like instead of some promiscuous fantasy of what some wish it had been, and make it a lot funnier.
However, it made me kind of sad to hear that ABC is in talks with the creators of The Inbetweeners to create an American version of it. American TV comedies are awful, and they will likely make a mockery of it the same way they did it to The Office.

Steve Carrell is a funny actor in his own right, that newsreader scene in Bruce Almighty nearly made me choke! But Ricky Gervais is just so dry - the way he directed it and played David Brent made it very hard for any other actor or production team to come close.
Hmm I will have to catch up with The Inbetweeners then, sounds quite amusing.
I wish they still made the old British comedies like Fawlty Towers, Allo Allo and One Foot in the Grave. Mind you they wouldn't get away with half of that stuff now, but that's what made them so damn funny, the humour was so risque!
As the saying goes - they just don't make em like that anymore!

The Inbetweeners is about as risque of a TV comedy as I have ever seenXen wrote:Yeah I agree with you on the Office. Something just didn't click with the American version.

Oh the Young Ones, yes I have seen that - very funny. Rik Mayall is one wacky dude!
Heres a link to a quick clip of Fawlty Towers. You will see why I said they wouldn't get away with it now! Classic comedy gold.

Well I am sure I will enjoy the The Inbetweeners then! I do like my comedy close to the bone.

Oh wow, I see what you mean now. Not risque as in "blue", but risque as in "not politically correct" lol. Funny stuff, but that is not really the way The Inbetweeners is. I completely agree with you that jokes like that would not fly today at all (at least not in the US; not sure about the UK really). Still check out The Inbetweeners, though
I think it comes on a channel called E4, or something like that in the UK.

Oh I like my comedy blue and not politically correct
Yeah the UK has gone a bit stupid with all this PC nonsense, especially on Health & Safety issues
Before long you will be able to sue someone for just throwing you a dirty look because it "offended" you!
Yep I have E4 - will check out.
