So I went over to a friend of a friends house and he had a everquest emu running. He doesn't have it open to the public, or advertise really. Just close friends and lan parties. I sat and played with them, first real time playing EQ and I actually had fun. I played it years ago but quit very quickly. With just a collection of people, average party you would play with anyways, it was a neat experience. No lagging and of course no problems with graphics set on super high

I am actually going to setup the same for my lan parties and a game I can treat as a RPG that is always up and running. Its a great environment for a persistant world for a small group.
I am not getting into the argument of whether emus are legal or right.
The tools to dit the DB are quite extensive too. You can literally create your own world. I personally wouldn't want to do that for a lan game but neat that the community is still so large and expansive.
