Ethereal - Playable Demo

Have a project in the works but not much media? How about an idea you are turning into a project? Maybe a game design document you want to start with. This is the place.

Ethereal - Playable Demo

Post by Sakar »

Here's a preview for a small game I've been working on the past couple days called Ethereal. It's a first-person 3D platformer, but I'll probably add some sort of puzzle elements and/or physics based challenges in later levels.

Let me know what you think :)

Looks neat :) Only thing I could really say is that the jumping seems a bit too smooth. Maybe you could add a "umph" kind of sound when the player lands, and make them buckle a bit upon impact. It would give more of a feeling for when the player has made contact with the platform after a jump, and is really necessary when making difficult first-person platform jumps.

Thanks!

Good thinking on that jumping idea, I'll get to work on it and see what I come up with.

Nice...good work so far! Love how you got it set, if you fall off, you start back at the top!! :) Though I agree with Jack, but then again, when playing this kind of game, using the "ball" there is no added "umph" or what not...it has that smooth landing...it just has the sound of the ball rolling. :)

Thanks Spirit! I've done quite a bit more to the menu so when I get some time I'll upload a video showing that.

I now have a playable demo of the beginnings of random level generation. It's still pretty basic ATM (made it in like 10 minutes, lots more to do)

W A S D - Movearound
Mouse - Look around
Escape - Generate new level
Alt + F4 - Close game (all I have for right now)

>>Web Player<<

>>Windows Player<<

Any and all comments and suggestions welcome :)
