Morrowind
Re: Morrowind
Yeah the graphics are the biggest time drain. For NWN 1 we had an artist and an animator making clockwork npc's. This was long before they decided to add Warforged to D&D.
The engine is extremely solid however which makes it a great platform.

Re: Morrowind
yes the updates have really improven it and the graphics are still extremely pretty. We should be able to turn out some nice areas and adventures.
Re: Morrowind
Right I just went and installed NWN2 thanks to this damn conversation
Got me wanting to play with the editor again, I loved just building huge (well huge in nwn2 anyway) cities with canals running through the streets, I think we should have a new area in these forums where we can just create a massive world (or multiple worlds for a futuristic one
) in NWN2, I dunno, its 1am so Im probably talking rubbish but I think it would be brilliant to build up a mod team for NWN2.

Re: Morrowind
a future mod would be great. Its tough and easy all in one. Its easy to re-skin most of the items to make them look future. Same with houses. Making a apocalyptic setting is the easiest.
Re: Morrowind
yeah, it wouldnt be too hard for me to jump into a new modelling pprogram for it too if i need to, maybe have space ships for travel between other planets, then it would be easy to have a story for new areas appearing, some worlds could be ravaged by war and others covered in vegetation with small camps, Il have a look into some programs and see if I can find one for making new models. Each person could maybe make their own planet to add to the mod, that way all of them will look very different.

Re: Morrowind
that would be wold, or we could have "gates" they use to travel between. To keep the workload light we could make it a very low tech type game. Much fantasy with hints of sci-fi.

Re: Morrowind
i would also like to make a online text based rpg engine some day. One where people can go in and make quests/adventures for players and players can choose through the lists of adventures and play them. It would be all text based and the general area would be chatting and stuff.
Re: Morrowind
I would like that, i have tried to make a few myself, but i aint that good with PHP, just the basic thingshallsofvallhalla wrote:i would also like to make a online text based rpg engine some day. Much like stargate ^_^ that way we could make the worlds at different technological stages, with magical abilities too, like one world could be in the oblivion style and another world a city with mechanical things and guns, the mod could be an ongoing thing that just keeps getting more and more added to it over the period of a few years, starting off with the rescources in NWN2 already.hallsofvallhalla wrote:that would be wold, or we could have "gates" they use to travel between. Isnt that the kind of thing your making the tut videos for? Because thats the kind of thing I was heading for anyway, with images, the chat would be where Id get stuck with though.hallsofvallhalla wrote:i would also like to make a online text based rpg engine some day. Re: Morrowind
well I was going more for one like the community project description, where players quest and travel. Much like my Armageddon Earth game. Maybe I should make it the community project? I just don't want the entire source out there for everyone to grab and make their own version. I guess I could just compile all the source others make and keep it with me, then keep a running version online updated with all new additions. Hmmm Something to think about.neronix17 wrote:Much like stargate ^_^ that way we could make the worlds at different technological stages, with magical abilities too, like one world could be in the oblivion style and another world a city with mechanical things and guns, the mod could be an ongoing thing that just keeps getting more and more added to it over the period of a few years, starting off with the resources in NWN2 already.hallsofvallhalla wrote:that would be wold, or we could have "gates" they use to travel between.
