type in the videos URL from youtube. and save it off as a HD version (as no offence the downloads do suck ass abit quality wise due to them bein LD).
Errr...that's where I got the videos that are up for downloading. There will be no difference between what we have for download to what you get from savevid.com lol :?

EDIT: I just noticed that savevid has a new HD option, so that is cool. However, it is only available as an FLV file. I will probably just leave the downloads I have as MP4, since they are compatible with more players (not just on a PC, but for mobile devices as well).

Are they the MP4 format? Or the FLV? If you downloaded the ones I had listed (and probably the dropbox downloads as well), they will be MP4, and DivX will play them no problem. Windows Media Player may also use them but they default to DivX on my computer. DivX player is a free download.

If you downloaded the FLV versions, you need Adobe AIR to play them. I believe it is a free download, but I am not sure as I got it with Fireworks.

are you sure on that?

only 'real' product of Adobes i have is bridge afaik... all my other adobe products are portables. (yes i know i am a cheap skate :D)

i play flvs through AVS media player with no problem.

so to the best of my knowlege i dont have AIR.

EDIT~~ just checked cuz u made me wonder :p

no visable AIR product installed on my computer. so unless its hidden within one of the portables in bridge or flash player. then i do not have it.

No, not really sure. I don't have AVS media player, and the FLV files were automatically linked to AIR. I tried playing them in the video players I do have, which are just the major ones (DivX and Windows Media Player) and they did not work.

Also, I double checked, and AIR is a free program. Adobe is pushing it now to be an offline Flash-suite media player, among other features.

With the tutorials? Most of what I have seen have been pretty well done. The problem is that most people coming in to work on them do not know PHP. You simply can't learn a programming language from watching a few videos, so most users are going to be "cookbook coding" (aka just putting pieces together or imitating what they have seen without really knowing the inner-workings of what they are doing). These types of users are going to have many problems along the way. However, for the truly industrious user who gets a solid PHP book and spends time researching and learning on each topic presented in the videos, the way will be much easier and it is likely they will have no or very few problems.
