So I mentioned that I had an epic idea for an app was going to work on getting it invested. Well I met with an investor yesterday and he was so blown away by the idea and what I have so far that he got me a meeting with one of the top investment companies in the US! Mind is totally blown right now. I still do not think it is has completely sunk in. Any adive is appreciated.
Everyone buy their island shorts and have them ready?
Mind Blown
Re: Mind Blown
Do you have a prototype that you can demo for them or is this just a pitch of an idea with an NDA?

Re: Mind Blown
You got this man, no advice needed! Just pitch your idea, stay cool. Up to you now, just toast up some drinks and prepare
Just make sure you don't change your presentation too much (fine-tune it, of course) than what you pitched to the original investor, wouldn't want to mix any messages between the two.
And congrats!
P.S. Can I go ahead and apply for a job at the company?

Yeah halls hire us to do nothing ;D
Re: Mind Blown
Skepticism is my advice.
Top investment companies in whos opinion? What research backs that?
Even if they are, these guys are ruthless bargainers. Do you have an evaluation of the ideas worth? If you massively underevaluate it, it's not like they are going to help you out - they will take it from you for a song.
They want to put stars in your eyes - it stops you from seeing what they are doing.

Ah yeah, make sure you don't take less than what you want just because they are a big investor -- though I don't take you as that kind of person.
Re: Mind Blown
Also if it's going to be big money, bring a lawyer. Commercial law, preferably. It'll be worth the short term cost. The logistics of commercial law or otherwise are extensive.

Re: Mind Blown
I have the app working. It works on PC, Android, Iphone ect..
These guys have an investment budget of 100's of millions of dollars a year. They get thousands of people a year trying to pitch ideas but only see a percent of that and fund even less. I get dinner with them
Yeah my plans are to ask enough to start a company, get a building, hire a few interns, and have a HUGE marketing budget. Right now this is way to early to know anything. They may crap all over it or they may go nuts for it. Just feels good to know it has a huge chance at this stage. I just got to get everything together!
Thanks for all the advice!

I have intern experience
Good luck, good to know that you already have a prototype, or is it the real thing? Regardless, it'll be huge when pitching it to them. Whip your phone out during dinner and blow em away!

It is pretty much the real deal. I wrote the prototype in about 4 hours and in 3 days had the real app wrote. Still got some more features to add however.
