CasinoRPG - Feedback?

Post by GoldFire »

We've been using the Isogenic Engine since last summer and have really enjoyed using it. We've been working pretty much non-stop since then on our new game, CasinoRPG, and just launched it into open beta last week. It is still a little rough around the edges and lacking in the content department, but we'd love to get some feedback from other devs and see what all of you think of the game.

CasinoRPG is a persistent, open-world MMORPG where players can play casino games like poker, blackjack and slots. There is also a large and growing city to explore, missions, jobs, etc. Players can even purchase land and build a casino of their own, which is the city building/tycoon part of the game. You can check it out at the link below.

I checked it out when i was first looking at Isogenic engine and was really impressed. It is quite an inspiration to indie devs.

I think it is very great u do a game using the isogenic engine. So may i know how u do it? Do u really depend on the isogenic engine itself or u merge with other framework? The game is superb and i will love playing that game.

It is mostly all Isogenic Engine, no other game engines involved. We wrote our own audio library and open-sourced it (http://howlerjs.com). We also use some various Node.js modules instead of pure IGE on the server like async, mongojs, etc.

I keep watching that trailer and i can't believe this is all Indie :P

Hey Goldfire,
I've tried playing it for a good few hours over a few days, I got to level 6. I did actually submit some feedback on your website a few weeks ago.
It works really nicely, graphics are pleasing and its a really great example of Ige.

The thing I would say is I found myself getting a little bored, I'm not really a blackjack or poker player and cleaning slot machines is fun the first, maybe second time after that I was looking for something else.
I love games like simcity and being able to build my own casino was what really appealed to me, however it seems you have to make it to level 10 to unlock the ability to buy a plot.

Obviously this is only my opinion and I may not be your typical audience as I'm sure the majority of your players really enjoy playing poker & things.

I hope this is constructive and I can see you guys have put and incredible amount of work into the game, it really is great to see.
I was just left wanting more to do.

Regards
Rob
