I mean two player, as in two people can play from the one computer at the same time. I'm thinking of using unity with a split screen mode.
I really kinda like the idea of exploring a world where yes, there are other players, but you also explore it with another player who is right next to you! So you both 'get' the world as you explore it, and there's also the broader world of other players too.
Mostly thinking of both sharing the keyboard - it'd be mostly exploring and basic interactions. I guess if either wants to write a message they'd have to switch to a message mode!
I'm thinking of working out some sort of development schedule, for the time I grant myself to try and get each predicted element into place - so as to see if I can keep within the time frame and if so, then I can see the time frame I have until I'm done.
And if I bug halls some more, he might host... >:)
I'm thinking about a two player browser game...

Hehe my website is not pulling much bandwidth so if you need host it would be my pleasure.
I have 500GB monthly bandwidth so if you don't need that much just say
Also, You would need to make a game without mouse support since there's only one mouse per PC xD

Back on the amiga they had a game called hired guns, which had two people on the keyboard, one on the mouse, and one on a gaming pad (IIRC) all on the one screen at once.
It depends how well you can map your controls between devices - though I was just thinking keyboard only for both players.
Thanks for the offer, vitinho! It'd be nice to start designing with a feeling that I will have somewhere to host this. Back in the olden days my internet account actually had some space to go along with it - but they kind of cut that back in the upgrades. Though weirdly they never deleted the old site I made with it (which I can't remember the FTP password to, anymore!)

Sounds very cool!
Talking about 2-players on 1 computer, have you ever played Where I Go At Night? If you have someone else to play with it, try it out. It is such a brilliant use of 2 players on one computer, where you are basically working against each other in such an inventive way!
