For games? Well, instead of trying to do things which are too complex for you, either for example because you don't have the art or knowledge, then start with something a bit simpler. You did a first tower defense. I take it as you like tower defense games, then why not make it simply in HTML 5, and make it a full game like gemcraft or the like? Yours is not bad but it's really like a prototype more than a full game.

Yes, nowadays it's very hard to compete with new ideas because i feel like everything i think was already created.. it sucks xD
