3D Animateable Arms
Hello guys, in the making of my new 3D Game, i need some hands to do an FPS.. Anyone knows where to find a pair of animate able hands? (and arms ofc)
Of course a FPS can't be just the weapon, or CAN IT? xD

You can actually use a whole model, and it may be easier to do it that way. You could also find more animations of higher quality. The thing is, in a 3D game, the camera takes up no space. It is just an arbitrary point in space of infinitely small size. So you can use a whole human model for the character, and then just have the camera float an inch or two in front of the model's face. You could possibly even add an invisible bone jutting out of the model's eye, and use that to get the point for the camera. That way the model's head won't clip inside the camera view during animations, and could give a better feeling of movement as the model moves.

Yeah i'm currently using a free soldier model that i can move every single part of the body, but Unity is bit stupid sometimes and i don't know if the error is in the Engine or the model because when the camera rotation reaches a 90º degree or multiplier (like 180, 360, 270 etc) the hands and the whole model disappears.. and then u rotate a little more and it appears again. I'm currently using those free models, but you know there might be some better onesJackolantern wrote:You can actually use a whole model, and it may be easier to do it that way. Oh and on the animations, dont get me started, with this ones i have to animate almost every frame, ofc unity helps there but its still a pain in the ass.. i wish i had those motion capture cameras on my room :PPP

Kinect can be used to do motion capture at home. The softs I saw require usually 2 Kinect connected to a PC but maybe you can do with just one:

No need of a xbox, just the Kinect box alone, linked to your PC. And cheaper than that will be harder.
