Jetbrains WebStorm $29 until April 22nd
I just figured I would let you know a personal license of WebStorm, the most advanced Javascript IDE available, is on sale for over 50% off for just the next couple of days. Grab one while it is still on sale if you type of a lot of Javascript (it is also great for node.js)!

Joking or not, that is obviously some people's preferred option. Downloading torrent executables just creeps me out, though. I have seen my friend's computers get absolutely ravaged by torrenting computer games. Any program could be a problem, anti-virus or not.

I started to check webstorm. Even if I need to use yet another editor, the first test results are pretty promising. Auto-complete seems to work for all the JS functions I would need, even mines. Code highlight is not bad. File management is pretty solid. Overall I'm quiet impressed. Yet, it's far not the JS equivalent of Visual Studio for a .NET language, but hey, it's also not the same kind of prices

If you mean the almost magical code-completion for Visual Studio (Intellisense), really few other editors can get to that level because of the languages, actually. .NET languages have such great code-completion because of the piles of metadata that VS and .NET are building behind the scenes. It is essentially mapping all of your code and dependencies in some extremely genius ways. I understand just a bit about the internal metadata, and then it lost me when it became highly academic lol. I am not sure if you have ever used VS for C++, but once you drop out of the .NET C++ (C++/CLI) and into regular ANSI C++, you lose a ton of the Intellisense power.a_bertrand wrote:I started to check webstorm. So, sadly, really no IDE is going to get to VS levels on the code completion with Javascript.
