MMORPG Client and Server Stress Test 1 TESTERS NEEDED ASAP
Well we are ready to stress test our main server and client system for the MMORPG We are developing for the very first time. We are going to need as many people to grab the client, register accounts login and chat in the lobby as possible so that we can see just what kind of capacity the current server code is capable of supporting. I know that the code has no problem dealing with several clients at once but i want to see what kind of impact the serialization in place has on performance before moving forward. so please pm me or watch this thread for the link to the client and the date and time that the stress test will begin remember we need as many people as possible to be regging new accounts logging in and chatting at the same time

You may want to end up testing this in an automated fashion. Most indie MMO devs tend to run into problems with stress testing. Yes, posts online can net maybe a dozen or so people who are willing to try it out, but that is not usually in the realm of an MMO test. Even a dozen can be stretching it, when you usually want dozens and dozens for the first round of stress testing. Another nice point of automated stress testing is that you can simply make test versions of your client that can track relevant statistics. That cuts out the subjective feedback from humans that amounts to "It still seemed pretty fast", and instead can give you actual response times in milliseconds. After a few tests of various levels, you could possibly even make a curve out of the data and figure out where the theoretical fail point would be

I did test it that way i want to see how it holds up in more real world conditions in which the connections are coming from more than one location. I also have the database setup to collect frame-rates latency and other statistics so that i can run analytics on them lol not my first time at the rodeo

I wasn't saying it was
Just that I have seen a few people try to get together stress-test-worthy groups of people here and on other forums, and it is very hard since people all have different schedules, time zones, etc. I will help out with it if you need it, though
