Ludum Dare 25, be there!

Post by mattykins »

Ludum Dare 24 was a GREAT experiance, loved every sweaty stressful moment of it. I'm hoping some of you guys will take it on with me this time! :D It's next week, the theme is announced at 6PM Pacific Standard Time next Friday.

The rules of Ludum Dare are simple: A theme is announced and once that theme is announced you have 48 hours to design/develop/polish a game based on that theme :) There are of course a few other rules all of which can be found at LD's Website.

It's great fun :)

My tools for this LD shall be: Java, LWJGL(openGL), and probably SlickUtils for textures and some other things.

Oh how I've always wanted to compete in the legendary Ludum Dare competitions. Maybe I'll get into the one in the summer.
Peace~

This will be my third attempt at Ludum Dare, the first one I didn't submit anything, the second one I was successful and submitted a game, and i'm hoping to be successful again :) It's a great way to spend a weekend.

You have 48 hours from the time the theme is announced on Friday the 14th at 6pm PST, check for theme announcements on Ludum Dare's website, http://www.ludumdare.com. their IRC channel, or their Twitter :)

It is also worth noting that for people who can't dedicate their entire weekend to making a game, there is an LD Jam as well, which gives you an extra day, allows you to work in teams and also allows you to use art and code you have created previously for other projects (things not typically allowed in LD). It is more of a lax LD to help more people join in.

Thanks! I meant to mention that heh

I agree with Jack 100% the Jam is great for people's first LD, or people who want to work as a team.

Join the LD Jam, Halls! You can use code and assets from your vast pile of existing projects, which could greatly cut-down on the time to work on it, but even so, you get an extra 24 hours in the Jam!

Yeah! You should, that would be cool Dalls :) You might even conquer Hall's disease and finish something! ;) After all, that's the idea behind LD, to finish a project.
