Alternative to WAMP

Is there anything like WAMP but doesn't have to be installed thru an installer, due to locked down company pc's? Needing to find something to use for running PHP files and something like MYSQL for a database. Trying to explain it best i can.

I think XAMP has a rar download.. if your company is blocking the installers, try xamp.

Actually, XAMPP offers a Portable Lite version! I never actually knew that, so thanks for asking the question, because my knee-jerk reaction would be that Apache is too complex of an application to run without extensive configuration through an installer.

But it says you can just download that Portable Lite version, load it on a USB drive, and then run it right off of there!

Just for the record, did you download the Portable Lite version? If so, how is it working? It just kind of blows my mind that something like XAMPP could offer portable Apache and MySQL access!

Jacko, i used to own a private server and to make a website they used a standalone version of apache and mysql.. So.. you just run apache.exe, mysql.exe and you got yourself a webserver. What i think XAMPP does is just creates a interface (the control panel) and with buttons that will run those standalones.. but it might not be that i dunno. xD

this program XAMPP is awsome for the situation i am in. thank you for suggesting this program to me. so far it is working just like wamp except you dont have to do any installs with it so it doesnt touch any of the registry. just need to extract it into a directory name of your choice and run a couple .bat files you are needing. mysql, apache, etc...
