Flight

Post by SpiritWebb »

Is there a program, that you can design what the craft looks like and then it determines if it could fly based on the options you give it? If not, how would be the best way to make something like this?

Weeeird! I have never heard of anything like it, and even though you talk about it like it would be a tool, it almost sounds like it could be a cool, creative game in itself if you could design the craft in the same program. If one doesn't exist, someone should make one! It would require pretty heavy physics coding with a good understanding of aerodynamics whether it was a tool or a game.

Yeah, needing it as a tool. I have seen something similar when they test planes or whatever, or spacecraft. They give it certain information and run the simulation.

A good simulator is what I am looking for...down to the battery and alternator as far as being specific. Specify battery size, amps, cold start, etc. Alternator size and what not, so on and so fourth!!

Hmmm...well this is definitely outside of my area of expertise, as I don't know if anything like that is publicly available. Making one on your own is likely out of the question if you are wanting near simulation-level realism. Maybe you could find some leads, or ask some questions about it, at one of those Microsoft Flight Sim fanatic websites.
