X-Box & EA Games

Post by Torniquet »

Ok, Just thought I would post this as a warning if some are not aware.

If you own an Xbox and play EA title with Xbox live... Be carful!

A friend of mine has had their xbox live account hacked and points bought. I have had a scope over the net regarding this to see if it is a common occurance. Pretty much every article I have read includes games by EA having being played.

If you own XBL account, have a card linked to it and play EA games, might I suggest removing the details from the account. Purchase points via cards and spend what you buy, and renew your account by the cards aswell.

There is some mention about EA servers having some kind of vulnerability. There are a hell of alot of reported cases floating about from this year. Take a lookie

thanks for the warning, I removed my card a while ago because of Xbox using only India for their customer service.

Strangely enough I haven't touched my console in ages. Just got bored with it.

I've started playing the console more lately - the controls take some getting used to for an old PC gamer like myself, but the games are more stable and I don't have to fiddle with drivers/DRM/etc. Don't play online though - don't even have them hooked up to a network connection.

Makes you think there's a vulnerability in some EA common code that someone figured out how to exploit... or something.
