For months I have been looking for this game. I played this game back in 06' and loved it. Was so addicting. It was called Battle Dungeon, they have moved on to a 3d client. Shame! But the way back machine still has some of it archived.

Basically everyone in the game would race to get the highest level before time runs out. Most games lasted 3 days I think. You had turns you received every hour. This game was simple but man was it fun. It was this game that got me into Web development. I have wanted to re-create this game for years now!

Interesting
I have never actually played a reseting RPG like that before. It does seem like a completely different kind of experience vs. a traditional MMORPG. Like maybe it could put more emphasis on efficiency during actual play instead of on accumulation.

Yeah, was quite fun and different. it was actually fun to restart as you had a chance to win again. They had a few different locations as well which helped keep it different.
I am seriously on the verge of putting everything on hold while I build this. Has been a Browser game dream of mine. Seeing the old game has re-stoked the fires. I think I could convert Cavern Crawl into it within a week. I could run specialized version of the game as well. Like allow forums to run their own games for their members only and stuff.
The company does not even have the game listed as a game of theirs anymore. It has been closed for years. Like they want to forget it. I know they would give money prizes and charge for extra turns. It was a real raquet and many people were getting angry.

I used to play this game cokestudios, it was a flash game where you could make music, you could go to a public place and let everyone listen to that song, and people had to click if they liked it or not =p
you did get coins with it, and you could spend the coins to create a room and put stuff in it..

first they shutdown this game for another one, a 3D social world (didn't like it at all)
now they don't have any games left..

wow amazing how they shut down really good games just because they are not making bank on it.

Not...really? People like to paint benign faces on corporations, but given the fiscal pressures, this is what they really are behind the painted face.hallsofvallhalla wrote:wow amazing how they shut down really good games just because they are not making bank on it.

They are saying in that info that Cokestudio was just a promotional virtual world for Coca-Cola, so it probably was born with an expiration date on its forehead. It is sad that people ended up having a lot of fun with it and they took it down, but it was probably just there to build awareness of Coca-Cola's website. Odd that they didn't try to monetize it if it was popular, though. It sounds like a lot of development went into it, and it likely could have been sold or licensed to an independent owner.

True. Well, there's an opportunity for the enterprising - if you see a company do a promotional world, try and get in and push push push to get the license on it. Might snap up an absolute bargain!Odd that they didn't try to monetize it if it was popular, though. Definitely! Really, if you have some money or can get some from investors, there are probably bargains out there every day of the week. Between promotional virtual worlds (and there are more popping-up every day), closing games, and art assets from canceled and defunct games, you can really get something special, I am sure. You just have to have good business senseCallan S. wrote:True.
