What books are you reading

Post by hallsofvallhalla »

Figured a good place to get some book ideas and see what everyone is reading

JavaScript: The Definitive Guide
Sword of Shannarra - but dropping it for being so much like Lord of the Rings..I thought I was the only one to notice but found out I am not

Once the Seven Citadels are re released I am going to re-read them. Very good books.

Foundation HTML5 Canvas (seems a good book so far, but it starts out assuming no JS skills, which is kind of boring at parts)
Thinking in Java (learning a bit more about this huge language and class library, preparing to probably have to write my own socket server)

I'm about to finish up "The Strange Affair of Spring Heeled Jack" by Mark Hodder. Once I'm done with this then I'll be on to Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter :)

Have you read any of those books before? I always figured they would be horrid and tried to sell copies based on the cover alone (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies 1 & 2, Queen Elizabeth: Demon Hunter, etc.). Are they actually good books?

Re-reading for the third time Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. But here's the twist: I'm only reading starting from where part 2 will start! *gasp*

They are best sellers....and the reviews on them are better than most of the crap I read. I'll be the first in my group of friends to read it so I have no personal accounts to go off of.
