Thank you Halls!

Post by Kennydin »

Having not been around on these forums for a while I thought I'd stop by to see how things were doing :) I guarantee NONE of you will remember me :P

I'd just like to thank Halls for a few couple of things really...
Having followed him here from the mmoworkshop community he had setup some PHP tutorials for beginners (like I was then :p). Since watching those videos I went on advancing the basic knowledge that Halls provided through his tutorials. Without those videos I probably wouldn't have grasped the fundamentals of PHP. Now, I'd like to think I'm a pretty confident developer (not just with PHP but with various other languages) working on a couple of medium sized projects myself, and also gaining a firm understand of UNIX systems.

If it weren't for this wonderful place I probably wouldn't be making the university decisions I'm about to make.
I hope to be around more often, once my exams are over.

So again, a seriously big thank you to Halls and to this community (even though its grown so much and none of you know me :P).

Jordan :)

I remember you. So glad to see you have grasped the fundamentals and have grown beyond that. That was my whole point beyond the tutorials. Not to teach someone how to make the next WOW, but to get a quick start so they can chose a direction they want to take.

Hope you stick around!

They worked beautifully, I remember I had been looking for some decent video tutorials and most at the time were just utter cow poop to be honest, I then followed through your tutorials and it just clicked. After going through them I just RTFM  Having (as a beginner) hated the concept of reading though documentations, saw the truth behind these lovely articles of information and now I love them :p

I sure will be :) Once these exams are over, Summers coming up and I have a craving to get into some new community projects!
