Hey thur!

Post by 62896dude »

Why hello there

I have actually been a member here on Indie-Resource for a few months now, and I don't regret it at all, this place is game-making paradise! Primarily what I like about it as that the admin are always keeping it up to date, helping where help is needed, etc. So anyways, I am 14 years old living in Illinois, and thanks to halls' tutorials, I am pretty fluent in PHP and HTML (currently working on javascript). I love programming, and I am currently creating a 2D pokemon MMORPG that is quite similar to the actual games, but I will be adding my own features and players will be able to interact with each other live! but enough about that, I enjoy browsing through the different topics here and attempting to answer questions wherever I can! Also, should you ever want a game tested, just let me know, I would love to give feedback!

Glad to have you here! :)

If you are learning Javascript, you owe it to yourself to check out jQuery, which is the way Javascript should have been from the start! I won't do any JS development without it ;)

I know you mean Javascript for your website. But that's not all JS is about. I present to you node.js: http://nodejs.org/

Yeah, there is definitely server-side Javascript out there, but it is much less common than client-side. I am somewhat familiar with Node.js, but have not really had the need to dig much further in to it.
