Does anyone know where to get the programming setup for answers or how to setup something like the example below?

I remember seeing something this exact 'answers' platform offered as a hosted SaaS solution. Stack overflow also uses something similar to this.

I've just searched around but I can't seem to find that site again. I'll let you know if I stumble on it.

I could be wrong, but didn't Stack Overflow release their system to be open source? I thought I remember reading some topics about PHP IDEs and I thought I saw something like "Create your own Q&A site" or something like that.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was open-source, but it seems that I can't manage to find it again.

I can't find the Stack Overflow system now either. I wonder if I actually did see that or not, but I really thought I did.

In case it may help, here is the list of Stack Overflow apps available, although it seems that most if not all of them are just designed to interact with Stack Overflow, not necessarily to make your own Q&A site. But there are a crapload there, so it may be worth looking through them all to see if anything can help.

That is the stack exchange 1.0 system. SE never made it open source but some people have made a few open source clones. You can put forth a propsoal for a new one at http://area51.stackexchange.com. SE did allow people to host one (like how the Unity Answers site is) back during SE 1.0 but with the new 2.0 system only community created/run sites are allowed. Also SE 1.0 sites will need to transition to 2.0 sites at some time, but there are agreements that have to be accepted for that to happen and the ownership and privileges changes a bit so a few people with their own have been a bit reluctant.


There is already one dedicated to Game Development, I recommend it lots of awesome industry folks there. (And I'm a moderator lol) http://gamedev.stackexchange.com
