What is the code to make your site acctually pop up on say google, when you search for it ?
I have checked other sites and their source to try find out.
And found that the code should be like:
<meta name="keywords" content="på tv, tv, TV, tablåer, på tv, tv1000, canal+, filmer, tv program,">
so i did a similar one to my place:
<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html
<head>
<title>Welcome to eldain-tattoo.dyndns.org where you find pictures and tattoos for various usage. </title>
<meta name="description" content="Eldain-tattoo.dyndns.org is a site where you can find pictures and tattoos for various usage." />
<meta name="keywords" content="tattoo, tatueringar, pictures, tribal, wallpaper, cloth, computer shell, decals, car decals" />
But iam still totaly invisible.
anyone have any good site where i can try learn more ?

sites and searchwords ?
Re: sites and searchwords ?
Meta tags. Use .htaccess to eliminate file extensions. Follow the xHTML standards so the Google bot can parse your page properly. Do a Google search on SEO(search engine optimization).
Once your website has been found by Google, they tend to check it every 1-4 weeks depending on the activity.
PS. Wrong board.

SEO, or search engine optimisation isn't that effective. I've seen it time and time again: people spending all their time on getting the search engines to like their site, without ever considering if the visitor will like the site.
I would recommend you to forget about SEO for the most part, and focus on providing a positive experience fo anyone that does happen to chance by your site.
However, if you still want it to show up on google, which is completely okay, then I suggest you logon into Google's Webmaster tools and submit your site/optimise it there (as well as check out some of the other things you can do). Google's crawlers need to find links to your site before it can index it.

Google doesn't use meta tags. It uses the flow and content of your site. Put a good site up first, having a good site will do more for raising your status on search engines than SEO.

SEO really only works to a noticeable degree if you are move a fair amount of traffic. For Google and most other modern search engines:
Activity > Anything you can code on your site
Why does Wikipedia pop-up at the top of almost every search? And Amazon, too? Because they are immensely popular. Google and other engines have incredibly complex algorithms to determine search results, and they are not available to the public for obvious reasons. But one thing that SEO knows for sure is the idea of activity raising your rank. The more unique links to your site, the better. The more mentions of your site on other sites, the better. This basically means that for a new site, trying to get placed on a page of results for "browser-based game", "programming forum", and other general search terms is not going to happen because the first 10 pages of these results are dominated by sites receiving hundreds of thousands of visitors with thousands of links on other sites. Metatags are also all but useless, as search engines learned early you cannot allows sites to categorize themselves (Google made a fortune by modernizing search engine algorithms, and metatags were not a part of their plan).
As Pax said, just focus on making a good site with a good user experience. The extent of the SEO that you should do is just make sure that your site can be found when someone is specifically looking for it. If someone cannot search the specific name of your site, then you know you are breaking search engine indexing somewhere and that should be fixed as that is in your power and can hurt you if left alone.
