Don't go near it! I heard that being within 50 feet of one of them, particularly with a group of people, can make you kill yourself!hallsofvallhalla wrote:in the closet, behind the shed, in a old fallout shelter..one of m night shalymonadingdong's movie premiers..u know places no one goes.

Black & White is going to have 3v3, so it looks like Miyamoto is on your tailGenaga wrote:It uses a different formula at the moment, but I plan on editing it a bit more. And most of those things aren't added and I'm not sure if they will since I want my own twist to the game and things will need to be a bit different like for 4v4 battlesSome monsters can learn Cover and places barriers and heal other monsters. This adds a whole new level to battle strategy

Also, not trying to sound negative or anything, but barriers and healing (some would call it pseudo-healing) already exist.
EDIT: I had typed a huge post here. But I deleted it as it involved a LOT of information on competitive pokemon strategy, which I guess is kinda off-topic, but now I totally wanna start a pokemon thread.

Re: Pok
Ahh devastated, do they have attacks that can be used on friendly pokemon? And what about attacks that can attack all their opponents?
Was thinking about just doign 6vs6, NPCs and parties. Tournaments, achievements(lols) things like that too.

6v6 may be interesting.Genaga wrote:Ahh devastated, do they have attacks that can be used on friendly pokemon? And what about attacks that can attack all their opponents?

Yes there are moves that you can use on friendly's in 2v2, and they are introducing more strategic elements with 3v3 (like positions in battle, for instance, the left-most poke on your team can't hit the right most poke on the enemy team with singe-target moves, and your middle poke can hit all 3).
There are also area attacks, like Rock Slide for example: In 2v2 it hits both enemy poke's. Then there's moves like Earthquake, which hit both enemy poke's and your second poke, unless it's immune to ground of course. There's also moves specifically designed for 2v2, like Helping Hand, which (I think) boosts the target poke's attack power.
Here's a common two-on-two strategy: Have one poke with Belly Drum and Substitute and wearing a Salac Berry, the other carrying Psych up, and maybe something that ups defenses, or a barrier move, while wearing Leftovers, and must be slower then the belly drum user. The belly drummer opens with substitute (hopefully he's faster then the other teams poke's), while his partner uses his defense upping move. The enemy team does their thing, be it attacking or what have you, and your belly drummer's substitute may have been broken, but that's okay.
This turn, you use belly drum, which brings your belly drummer to 25% health, activating Salac berry. At this point, he has a total of +6 attack, and +1 Speed. At this point, the partner uses Psych up, and copies those stat changes. Leftovers will help keep him healthy enough to sweep. At this point he proceeds to use his remaining two moves (more than likely attack moves) at +6 attack and +1 speed, giving him a pretty large window to 1hit KO most poke's in the game, even when being resisted

Obviously there's a lot that can go wrong, but Pokemon battles are all about prediction.

EDIT: A good choice for these poke's would be Jirachi; with Iron Defense, Psych up, Iron Head, and either FirePunch, IcePunch or Thunderpunch. And then Snorlax, with Belly Drum, Substitute, Crunch and Body Slam. This does open you up to a fighting weakness, but IronHead after Belly Drum 1 hit KO's every fighting type I can think of.

Re: Pok
Genaga, is your Silverlight application running as a Socket client to a Socket Server somewhere, and if so what language is the socket server programmed in?
If not, can you explain the backend connectivity?
Silverlight front-end connecting just to a database pulling data every 500ms - 1 second using polling? or
Silverlight client connecting to some socket server? etc..
Then I don't have to BS my way around the internet figuring out what technologies I should be using to get a project like this up and running.
