Project Battle

Have a project in the works but not much media? How about an idea you are turning into a project? Maybe a game design document you want to start with. This is the place.

Project Battle

Post by hallsofvallhalla »

k got a quick working demo. Very simplistic.

http://indie-resource.com/projectbattle/login.php

basically it updates real time (every 3 seconds of all player movement, growth, map changes, ect..

Currently your player will stay on the map even when you logout so you will see other players on map. unless they are logged in moving they wont move but we can set up a time for people to log in to see it in real time. I will jump in and out to test.

You can click on the trees to lumber from them. It will update stats with no refresh.

This does not work with IE for the moment, i will get it working later

Looks pretty neat so far, but I am wondering if there could be a problem with Chrome support, as the trees were not clickable for me. I tried clicking when I was on one, near one, and far away from one and got no results.

EDIT: Yeah, it worked in Firefox, so I think it is a Chrome issue...as usual.. :?

Looks good. But when you know how you've used a big tile of grass graphic - you can sort of see the line between them. That's not the prob. When I went down to the bottom right tile (as soon as I'd passed the graphical line), once I passed the tile it kept leaving images of my guy behind where I had stood before. I'm on firefox.

Tree worked for me, I harvested wood, though it kept failing me! So I set it on fire...yeah, I know you didn't code that in...just one of my powas!

hehe this is just a tech demo of real of the real time no refreshing, a long long ways from a completed game. Not sure if I will complete. I am at a crossroads.
