Get ready for the Solstace!

Post by PaxBritannia »

Just a reminder, tommorow, the 21st of June is the Summer/winter Solstace!

From now on, if you are in the northern hemisphere, it will be the summer solstace, and in the southern hemisphere, it will be the winter solstace.

For the northern hemisphere: The days will grow shorter, and the nights longer.
For the southern hemisphere: The days will grow longer, and the nights shorter.

And on a side point, if you missed me, it was because I was really busy. Hopefully I will be able to work on Impedimenta now that the days are longer (I'm in Australia)!

Happy Solstace!

Pax.

Ps. Midsummer refers to the Summer Solstace!
P.p.s. So "A Midsummers Night Dream" was a short dream?

Interesting. So it sounds like June 21 in the northern hemisphere is the peak time for hot weather. If the worst of the heat is almost over that is comforting news at least.

Speaking of hemispheres, watching the World Cup in South Africa has been hard this year since they are in the southern hemisphere and are in the middle of winter. It makes me so jealous while I am burning up here in south Texas :P

Sorry for off-topic. I just think it is so weird that the southern hemisphere's seasons are exactly the opposite from ours.

Its winter for me her in Australia. Summer will be a nightmare, 30-40+degrees Celsius.

What is the summer temp. where you live?

I hear ya on that... I live in Kansas - we are baking right now. And of course my son has ball games or practices almost every night. It's miserable outside :(
