I seen them when they came out! hehe, use to scare the crap out of me and I doubt they will get it right. If Rob Zombie would have directed it maybe...

Re: Nightmare on elm street
I was happy to see it rated-R instead of PG-13 like most horror films are today. It was a risky move since that could have knocked out a lot of the interested 13 - 17 crowd, but it still did good on its opening weekend this past weekend (I think it was #1 at $15 million). I guess they assumed that everyone who watched the Freddy movies is well over 18 now, and the extra violence afforded by the R rating would be worth it.
I am definitely psyched about it. I loved all of the original Nightmare on Elm Street movies, and have always thought about how great a remake would be with modern dream special effects. There is much more potential there than with the Friday the 13th remake. I am going to probably see it in the next week or two (I hate going to see movies around opening weekend or the next).

I love Jackie Earl Haley, but Robert Englund will always be Freddie to me.

Not familiar with Haley, but I was also disappointed with the fact that Englund was not Freddie. Not like he would be, some 20 - 30 years later, but he just is Freddie lol.OldRod wrote:I love Jackie Earl Haley, but Robert Englund will always be Freddie to me.

I can not wait to see this movie. I will be seeing it this weekened in D-Box seats. If you dont know what d-box is its seats that move with the movie. Plus the vibrate witht he bass. My coworker already saw it in D-Box and said he liked it. So ill update when i see it. Dont think it will be the same with out Englund but i think it will be good.

Weird lol. The theater I normally go to doesn't have seats like that. But then...I don't know if I would like that

The seats have a way to controll how intense the moving and vibrations are its awsome i saw clash of the titans in d-box seat. D-Box was released early april and is only in 20 theaters across america i think,
Re: Nightmare on elm street
i have seen footage of this film now....
and quite frankly i am not impressed
freddy now looks like a true burns victim (i know he was burned to death but in the origionals, he didnt look disabled with it lol)
it is hard to make out the fact he is talking other than his voice... as i could hardly see his lips moving at all.
i have heard the story focuses more around him bein a pedo rather than a child killer like i do beleive the origional was.
other than tht cant really comment (y) lol.
anyway, anyone who sees it plz tell me if its any diff to wht i have seen and heard. i am hoping it will be a half decent remake
