FaceBook App(Game)
Well I have decided to write a facebook game. It seems it works much the same way as a browser game but you have to integrate it into the facebook api. I am not a fan of facebook but a game on there can easily get popular.
Tips and ideas welcome

Be Different.
But I think your games would thrive better if you integrated FB into them instead of integrating the game into FB.

For someone not really knowledgeable about FB or the FB API, could you explain what you mean by that? loljpoisson wrote:Be Different. But I think your games would thrive better if you integrated FB into them instead of integrating the game into FB.

Here is a direct link to facebook Connect API, http://developers.facebook.com/connect.php
Facebook:
@halls, Are you really sure you will be able to handle another project under your belt atm?
Facebook:
So in a games sense it allow your players to either just use their FB as their login or they can register separately. You prevent or discourage multi-accounts from IP checks.Facebook Connect is a powerful set of APIs for developers that lets users bring their identity and connections everywhere. Developers can access a user's:
* Identity: name, photos, events, and more.
* Social Graph: friends and connections.
* Stream: activity, distribution, and integration points within Facebook, like stream stories and Publishers.
Use this information to create more engaging experiences on your website. Facebook Connect is free, so what are you waiting for? Be a part of making the Web more social and connecting people everywhere.

Re: FaceBook App(Game)
Seen loads of FB games that are just pure time sinks, no real content you just do x amount of function y to get score/money, and there's no real purpose to the score/money.
One FB game that first seemed interesting, but really was not: Mad Scientist.
It was buggy, but don't know if that's fixed. The thing not to like about it is that EVERYTHING is designed to take time, and it has no real purpose other than "collecting" finished projects that you spend so much time on.
At fist everything just takes a few seconds, and you get a frankenstein! FUN! Only you can't use it for anything. You continue on to the next project, a zombie. Still fun, and stuff only takes a bit more time to finish. Then, people get hooked and race on to the next project and so on. You end up logging in to start "fund raising", part production and research at the most optimal times (so really, you have to log in several times a day to do this) so you can finish the next project, and then the next and so on. Only thing is, it doesn't take seconds anymore, but hours, maybe a day or two just to finish PARTS of what is needed to finish a project, and it still serves no purpose for the player...
This game, for whatever reason, is still interesting to my girlfriend after over a year. She has collected LOADS of projects. *shakes his head* She does so out of boredom she says.
What I'm trying to say, if you want to do a FB game, make sure you take advantage of the network of users, meaning: player interaction, competitions, team work etc.

thats exactly what i am doing. Its called Adventurers Guild. You create a hero and it trains and goes on quests and other things even while you are not playing Your friends can feed him, train him, whip him ect.. and he does his quests and stuff according to how he is treated. Everyone can make guilds and compete.
