What do you mean by lag? Do you mean graphical slowdown, or network latency?

If you mean graphical slowdown and you are using RC Standard, Standard has a very poor rendering engine. How many polygons are in your trees?

Ahh, so you are just using the included trees? As I mentioned earlier, the rendering engine for RC Standard isn't the most powerful, but those trees that come with it should be simple enough to at least have a few on screen at once. To make a forest, however, I think most users have to create their own tree models that are more simple.

Also, what are the specs of the PC you are testing your game on? Graphical slowdown goes hand-in-hand with your system specs.

@Other RC users
Does anyone else know if the RC demo is the most recent release of RC Standard?

i think the demo is the latest version but not sure. You should be able to have quite a few trees in one zone easily.

There is a tree creator int he tool set

Yes, you can either make your own trees in the tree maker, or a in a modeling program.

However, you should be able to have more than 4 on-screen before you get graphical lag. What are your PC specs?

A pretty simple way to get a snap-shot of your computer specs online:

1. Go to Can You Run It?.
2. Under "Search a product by typing its name", try typing in "Crysis".
3. Click the "Can You Run It?" button below the text field.
4. Wait for it to load, and if using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click Yes/Allow if a box pops up prompting you if you want to run the Java application (nothing to fear, it is just launching a program to read your specs to display for you).
5. When it is done loading, it takes you to a new page that says if your system could run the game or not (I just chose Crysis arbitrarily).
6. Below the graph animation, it gives a table giving you the game's system requirements in black (ignore those) and your system specs in blue for each catagory.
7. Post your specs (the blue text), particularly CPU, CPU Speed, RAM, OS, and Video Card specs.

It may look like a lot, but I was just very detailed, and it normally only takes about 30 seconds and two button clicks to do :)

I am really wondering about your specs because it sounds like the problem with you running RC may be your computer.
