Re: Undiscovered Online
Thanks!!
Tonight (time allowed) I will be adding another star system for testing purposes as well as a GUI. I will let everyone know on this progress. If it works I will have a new video put together.
Last night I added a star base and moved the phase gate, far off into the distance. You can take a look at it and try it out:
http://scorpiusgroup.host22.com/test/testrun.html
Controls:
W - Fly downward
S - Fly Upward
A - turn left
D - turn right
Z - thrust
X - decelerate
-----Effects only------
C- turn engines off
V - turn engines on
-------------------------
LMB - Click and hold the LMB to rotate camera around ship.

Nice I like the control so far. I know it is still a test, but one recommendation I would want to make is make the planets MUCH larger, in terms of satisfying realism. Try even adding a slightly transparent exterior layer like an atmosphere. Just some thoughts, as I said i know your still just testing everything.

How much larger would you go? x2, x4, x6...?Agent wrote:Nice I like the control so far. As far as the atmosphere, as soon as I can learn it, I will try!!
Re: Undiscovered Online
Well that really depends on the scale of your Ship. The way you envisioned it. Is this thing going to be the size of America or the size of a small town or smaller? If its a super massive mother ship then the scale is fine now. Otherwise I think the scale of the background image planet is quit realistic. But this would mean your going to need some pretty high res textures on the planets to still make them look good I reckon.

Attempted and figured out how to build a new scene and incorporate it into the project allowing the phase gate to take you too a NEW star system.
Controls remain the same as before. (Note: after traveling through the gate, your ship is no longer moving once on the other side. Also note, I am working on the HUD, so there are just test text/buttons on the upper left, these do nothing, again, just playing with the GUI)

Screen Shot of the new system, and ship docked at the station.
EDIT: If you load it, and don't see a test HUD with the words test 3 times, then referesh the page and let it load again. It is important that you see the test hud, so you can go to a new system with the phase gate!

The phase gate has been changed, built it real quick last night. Sun in the first system you start in has been moved and changed.
I have corrected the code that takes you to another star system. Now when you come to the gate, go slow, because a menu will come up, asking which star system you want to go to. Currently there is only one other system titled "nextscene," and when you go into the new star system, you can travel back, but I have to correct where you return.
The background of the new star system, i just colorized the first background, for testing purposes only, and the HUD stuff is all testing. Positioning, etc.

The new ship which replaced the old ship for testing...this took me about a day to model, texture. The background was done entirely in Blender...

Re: Undiscovered Online
I have enclosed 5 new screenshots of the game...(Note: If you cant see the image on the bottom part, there is a lower hud there, and feel I made it too dark. But its programed no matter the screen size it will adjust accordingly, using Screen.width & Screen.height)
