Vista issue

Post by KonanXIX »

it is saving the file as .php.txt however I do not have the "tools" option with vista and I am unsure of how to make the appropriate changes.

Edit: actually now I have a rather unusual problem. After doing that I can no longer hear the audio for streaming media, from any site.

Edit: problem seems to have solved itself. Odd...

Go to Start > Control Panel and on the left side click Classic View. Now click on Folder Options, and in that window click the View tab. Scroll down until you see the checkbox that says "Hide extensions for known file types" and uncheck it. Now click Apply and close the window.

This will let you change a file's extension by renaming it.

When you save the file in notepad for example you can also set type to "All Files" and use " around the file name, like "myfile.php" and it should save as .php.

The above is often a better solution, but this might be useful to someone.
