Curiousity (Non-game related)

Post by SpiritWebb »

Curious...

Has anyone ever thought about making an animated movie? Using their 3d software, like Blender or 3dsMax?

I am curious, as I have thought about making an animated movie...since I am learning Blender, I have found that its pretty much a FULL animation studio.

I would like to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions about this...

Yes, I have. I was going to use Maya at one point to work on one, however when I was learning Maya I wasn't a very good modeler, let alone animator, so I decided just to work on my modeling skills more.

I actually would rather work at Pixar or even Dreamworks or something like that than on games..however I love both and would be completely content with a job in either field :)

I want to but the need for good sound effects and voice acting put me off since I dont know anyone with a nice sounding voice, well I know someone who could do it but he lives too far away :( and Id be waiting forever if I got him to do it himself. I can make models if Im given a while, but not from a reference, I kind of just do stuff and see what I make without really thinking  I would be interested in using Poser and a few other programs to pull together an short animation or two though :)
This isnt just a gimp mask...This is an S&M gimp mask...

I have people around me that would do the voice overs...and I have someone who is creating sound effects for our game...hes really good at it!! :) I was trying to do an animated short series, each episode about 10 min in length about a worm from space who crash lands on earth, nearby a bug city. There is a lot more to that story, but in a nut shell!! :)
