Embarking on a new mission
So i have seen a few games like tribal wars
and I am thinking this is a great way to do a browser game and not really to hard. I could use javascript for the animation building and placement, php and mysql for the "kingdom sim control" and ajax for the instant updating for the database. I think I will see what i cant throw together to make this happen. I of course will make a sci fi version with different planets

Re: Embarking on a new mission
well here is the proof of concept i made
you will have to excuse the ugly graphics and bad animations. This is only a test

just hit the build button. It simulates a rts style building.
I haven't tested this on all browsers so it should build a shop through animations. Make sure you use a browser that supports png transparencies.

Re: Embarking on a new mission
this idea is really growing on me. I am going to pursue this a bit further. Give it a sci-fi look to it.

The ground looks pretty cool, I can't click build using Internet Explorer (don't change the subject to how 'shitty' it is. This is Halls' topic)
I say keep it up bud

I figured you'd like some comments
I have Firefox installed but I've never liked it, so I've been using IE since I first started using the internet. I believe it is version 8, but I'm not 100% sure.

Re: Embarking on a new mission
I use most of the browsers and it doesnt seem to like chrome either Halls
Re: Embarking on a new mission
Yep, Chrome doesn't work either. Opera is a bit weird, the animations show with transparency, but it starts to show the text Image in a little box over the image.

How in the hell do you prefer IE over Firefox. Up until version 7 you couldn't even call it a modern browser lol. I've been using Firefox since beta 1 lol. TO each his own I guess...Last Known Hero wrote: I have Firefox installed but I've never liked it, so I've been using IE since I first started using the internet.
