Dark Basic Pro

Post by Last Known Hero »

Hey, I was wondering if anyone here was moderatly experienced in Dark Basic Pro coding, I would finally like to get started creating my game but I have NO idea where to even start. I wouldn't mind hearing a few tuts or, or links to well described tuts. Thanks guys :)

Have you checked out these?

Those are both really good guides to getting started with DBPro. I highly recommend starting with the Dodging Game Tutorial. That one helped me the most. I also recommend getting the CodeSurge IDE for DBPro. It works the best IMO.

Hope this helps! I haven't done much with DBPro personally, I just bought the Bonanza so I could have all the stuff :)

Thanks Sakar, I am pretty pumped to get DBP working for me and have a reletively solid foundation to start building a game, and who knows, if I get a solid enough one that I'm proud of I might donate to the people here at IR :)

I don't know what the IDE things is but I'm sure I can figure it out.

No problem! And the IDE is the editor you use for coding the project ;)

Haha Yup, I extracted the Winrar file, I prefer that one to the DBP included one. I have already created the Doging Game too :D... I'm Thinking of buying their DBPro Book (version 1 & 2)
