Yes, actually I have. When I was in I.T., my old boss told me if I get ITIL training, I could work for him from home. Beyond that, no I haven't. Don't get me wrong, I love programming (at times), just not sure if I am ready to do it full time, you know what I mean?!

I am a full time programmer that works from home and travels and started with building games with PHP. No formal training.
Just get out there and do it!
