I'm here, but in the shadows..

Hey everyone! I'm still here watching forum on a daily basis.
I haven't posted for awhile as I've had problems with my laptop, it does start but not entirely.
I'm just here to let you all know that I'm without a computer, idk for how long.

Glad to hear you haven't forgotten about us, but sad to hear about the computer! Maybe you could take it to a shop or something and they could figure out what is going on

If you do take it to a shop like Jacko says, check the reviews of that shop first! A friend of mine took his PC (which didn't even start, and when it did, it would blue screen crash) and they charged him for a new 120$ motherboard and the problem was still there... :/

Yeah, definitely a good idea. There are some bad ones out there for sure.

I bet most of them crappy ones just google the problem and go from there... It's effective most of the times, since people go there for simple stuff generally but when you give them a real challenge they just can't handle...

Laptops can be a bit tougher to work on yourself than a desktop because they aren't built to be particularly modular. A lot of soldered-on parts, proprietary connectors, etc.

Maybe someday a more modular laptop will be made...
