laptop mouse is gone

I dont know what happened. I was coding and all of a sudde n co themp like froze. Now everytime i reboot the mouse icon is gone or it works for a split sec then locks ups. The arrow keys work.

Yes, you mean the mouse icon? What operating system and form factor are you using?

The old solution to this is that your mouse has usually come disconnected somehow, either by breaking or some other means.
But Windows 8 adds a couple of other things. Depending on the computer's form factor, you may have a "pen mode" that cuts out all other input except a stylus. I believe some also have a "touch exclusive" mode.

My mouse works till i enter the windows os. How i check this "pen mode" out. My keyboard works though

What kind of form factor are you working on? Tablet? Laptop? Desktop? If it is a desktop, it is unlikely you have a pen mode.
But Touch Mode is common to all Windows 8, I believe. Check out
this thread. You may just have to hit every key to bring it back, since it could be different on each computer.

FN + F5 fixed it. Sim is back.
