Workout Log

Hey guys, I'm thinking on creating a simple website, maybe using a framework who knows, that will be a sort of Workout Log.

I've been doing some workout everyday, mainly biceps and squats so i look better for the summer and lose some belly :P and I'm having a hard time "logging" the workout I do. Like I think everyone would be proud to see that they have done like 3000 squats in a month. How happy would you be? I would be very happy 8-)

So it's a basic idea, and i was thinking for the first time do a login with facebook system, for those "busy" people that don't have 30 seconds to fill in their email and username and maybe you could share your monthly results with your friends.

What you guys think? Do you workout :P?

In my opinion, creating a soft for that is useless. You could use tweeter, or any blog system and you will be up and running. Not really a good learning project either in my opinion, but it's your call ;)

Just to post your log... wasn't it what you wanted?

Well, yes, but like.. This website/webapp would "record" your logs and then show you your stats weekly/monthly, maybe even recommend new ones who knows. And like twitter is public, but here in this website you could do the record just for you and if you want, share in facebook.

You could blend the two ideas. Create an app that reads twitter posts with a certain hashtag and compiles stats for that user. Then they could go to your site to see graphs and whatnot. Might be a fun little project. :)

IE, "#statCounter 200 pushups"

I workout, but everything I do is pretty much up in my head. This includes schedule and parts to work.

-Max
-Recover
-Build (2x weeks)
and repeat.

Then again I lift weights, you kinda need to know what you are doing. So I don't see a log as something that's beneficial to me

Now a weight loss app. That would sound smarter but imo is useless because you have those poor bastards paying for products such as weight watchers and what-not and won't take time to look at a free program.

Kaos idea is really good, and I think it's not that hard to make. Twitter api isn't complicated aswell and that could be applied in other things too.

You're right, mainly this idea was for motivational purposes, like one month from now "Whoaaaa I did 3384823171242781 PUSH UPS !! That's crazy!!". There's no problem saying this is a not so good idea :).

Yeah it was a cool idea if i knew how to use the twitter api, I would need to learn it ofc. The only problem is the public status.. Like why everybody needs to know you did 2 push ups? xD
