Hello, im about to buy the engine...

Though im concerned about what hosting service to use...

not sure which ones works with the Engine.
Can you give me some examples please? cheap sites is good also

While I haven't torn into the engine yet myself, as with almost all PHP applications, any host that supports PHP (which is just about all of them) will be able to run the game.

There are a countless number of free hosts that support everything needed for the engine. A more pressing concern are free hosts' policies, which often do not permit PBBGs due to their higher bandwidth and RAM usage. A common trick is put a facade site up first. Just a basic, barely dynamic website and leave it there for a week or so, during which time your account will probably be checked-out and OK'd. Then you put up your game, after which time they will never check it again unless your application starts causing problems and eating up too many resources.

Of course, on a free host your game will always have suspension looming over its head, so I couldn't suggest doing this for more than a few weeks to learn more about hosting your game, so you aren't wasting paid hosting time on figuring that stuff out. Before you really start working on getting a real player community, you will want the security of a paid host.

Like Jackolantern said, pretty much as long as you have php (I would say >= 5.1) you should be in the clear. Some requirements would be mysqli, and curl || fsockopen off the top of my head.

Now I wouldn't recommend a free host because of a few things:

• as Jack said as well they hold suspension over your head, most without warning will suspend without notification or a real valid reason just because they may see a small spike.
• There are some functions that you may need but they have them turned off for "security" purposes.
• If you do need something enabled they rarely ever enable it

But there are a few places that are exceptions to some of the stigmas of free hosts (a broken clock is right twice a day) but me personally I use paid services which cost me like $5/mo. but that does not include a cpanel, but you can install webmin or similar

Just a cheap good stable hosting site

This forum is hosted on A Small Orange, and as you can, it is very fast and reliable. Halls has been through several other hosts, including the Wal-Mart of hosting, GoDaddy, and all of them had some kind of issues. We have been quite happy with ASM. They have a basic shared hosting plan starting at $35 a year.

Another important consideration is how easily a host can scale. Starting with shared hosting is typically fine, but you want to be with a host who can get you changed over to a virtual private server (VPS) account in under 24 hours with no downtime if your site does explode. Nothing can kill rapid growth like a flood of new users not being able to connect, or worse yet, getting a 404. VPS is a bit pricey to start off with, but it is important that the host doesn't just do shared hosting, and ASM offers all kinds of tiers all the way up to dedicated hosting (where the whole server is dedicated to your game).

I use http://1and1.com, I can't give any comparative feedback about them as they are the only hosting service I've ever been with, but their prices have always been good, and they are a green hosting company which I am all for (so is A Small Orange).

What if I setup a reseller account where the accounts are pre setup with NWE?... as long as you have a working license key of course

Say $2-$5 a month? Just enough to pay for the hosting. I would even be happy with taking a percentage and giving to a_betrand and also a percentage that goes into a module fund that we can use for prizes or paying members to develop wanted modules.

That would be pretty cool kind of like a Softaculous software installer haha

Basically you would still get to use your own domain and have a full control panel just like a normal host.

I would need to know more details about what's included, bandwidth, number of databases, etc. Basically I own three domains and have several sites and projects.
