Re: Blender Desk
Yep not bad. Still need some work on the textures and lighting, plus try to put it in a "room" to render (basically a cube, with some lights)

Thanks, and yea, for some reason the textures don't ever look that well to me lol.a_bertrand wrote:Yep not bad. Still need some work on the textures and lighting, plus try to put it in a "room" to render (basically a cube, with some lights)

Re: Blender Desk
First of all, your images are dark... maybe too dark. Second it seems to me that you are using procedural textures, which are certainly easier to use but looks less good than true images applied to your objects. Also, the wood don't have repeating patterns, and all your drawers are showing the same wood texture, try to move the texture around such that all the pieces have a different look, otherwise it will look un-natural. Sadly human brains are great at finding such similitude, and even if you don't point out what is wrong, you will directly "see" that it doesn't look natural.

Thanks for the tips. Is this any better?a_bertrand wrote:First of all, your images are dark... maybe too dark. A bit yes. But not too different either. You made the image lighter, but the textures still don't seems natural. Also there is areas which are basically pure brown for whatever reasons.

Re: Blender Desk
It looks better, but it looks unfinished, and the legs and board behind the drawers looks like imitation particle board... not much of a wooden texture to them.
However this is substantially better than anything I could do. Great work!
