Is there a program that allows you to type up an email, and enter a bunch of people's name into the "To:" box, but sends them one-at-a-time, so it doesn't show the people you emailed that they just got an email also directed at 500 people?

That is called a "mass emailer" program, but be very careful with them. If you don't follow CANSPAM to the letter, you will get blacklisted from every networks in the world in a matter of hours.

Ah okay, I didn't even know CANSPAM existed. Thanks for that knowledge-drop. I was thinking more for emailing colleges and whatnot, in terms of personal use

If it is for personal use, as in, you personally have a reason to conduct some form of business with everyone you are emailing, you will be fine. CAN-SPAM is only for bulk email communications.

I guess I don't quite understand, but I thought the BCC: was for that reason? So that others can't see a list of everyone you sent to?

Most ISPs have a hidden limit on the number you can send out manually. A bulk mailer sends them automatically, one-at-a-time. But yes, you could try just BCCing it and just see if it fails.
