"Let's Build an MMO"

"Let's Build an MMO" is the current working title for a Fantasy Based MMORPG.
The title will be change to one that is chosen by the community.
Engines: Unity3D for Client and Atavism for Server
The Atavism Engine was originally designed to use another client (Axiom), which proved to be difficult and time consuming. Since moving to Unity, the development process has become much easier and quicker. The server is being integrated with Unity. This is has been a long development process, but is now coming together. Unfortunately for me, I have a lack of time (even for putting together a Browser game) due to being deployed. However, I have been able to fund the project... Which I can tell you has put me into a roller-coaster of emotions. Now, it looks like this may actually happen with success.
If (I know... "IF") this works out, then building MMO's with Unity should be possible for Indies. The server side is to be GUI driven for development purposes, thus allowing less effort for networking and server programming. The difficulty would then be with developing on Unity. Granted there will be games that will require server modifications/customization and we'll see what can be done (and also to avoid the "cookie-cutter stigma").

Latest video showing modular player housing and land ownership.
Granted, there is really no way to tell if the server is being used (this could be done just with Unity and no server) or working properly. But I can tell you, that the server is in use and the buildings are persistent (stored in the database). This if the video had shown the player logging off and logging back in, the newly built house would still be there.
