HP tablet

Post by hallsofvallhalla »

bought a new HP tablet and posting from it now..must say it is quite nice! It uses the web OS but I can dual boot android. Mainly got it for my daughter for school as I am getting a win 8 tab eventually but for the price this one is great.

Out of curiosity how much was it? I have a Asus Transformer (original one), and really like it, but am also looking forward to upgrading to an Intel Windows 8 tablet here in the next couple of months. I am looking at the Samsung Ativ Series 7, Acer Iconia W5 and I think Dell is going to have one on Windows 8 launch day as well. However, I will probably wait until December to gather feedback on the pros and cons of each.

This is a dual core 1.2 with 1 gig ram, 32 gig internal

Amazon has them for around $250-$300, but I paid $160 ;)

Wow, not bad! And very cool it can duel-boot Android, since Web OS is basically DOA lol.

I actually love webos on the tablet. It is so damn easy to use and navigate. Best OS to date to be honest. Very fast and intuitive. I only use android for netflix.

Oh yeah, I wasn't speaking to the quality of the OS. Only that it has lagged far behind when it comes to apps available, which is a large aspect to any mobile OS.

Although that may be a good thing since it is for your daughter, as that would be less temptation to buy apps/ask you to buy apps

There are actually a TON of apps. Sure not as many as android or iOS but still thousands. Doesn't have netflix though :(

Thats awesome.

I bought one not long ago, a Coby Kyros. Running the new 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS of Android. Unfortunately its not Google Play ready, but got around that using the Amazon App store. Has Netflix. I got it so I can write my book mainly. Nice and fast. Paid $125 for it, got it in 2 days from Amazon.
