Java, Tips, Recomendations

Well i have begun to learn java but i was wondering if any of you have recomendations for small simplistic programs i can make for extra practice?
it would probably take a while for me to be able to do some big stuff but if you have any ideas i would love to hear them

i started learning java a while ago but i stopped due to insufficient time. I would like to here the tips and tricks you have to offer

You should tell them what your skill level is. Make a scientific calculator. I know you probably haven't learned how to make GUI's yet. So just make a console scientific calculator. I made a calculator for school as well

. Way better than going out and buying some retarded $120 calculator. It does all the work for me

. Even shows me how I made it. Has an ugly ass UI though. Oh well not in math class this semester. Anyhow yeah I think you should make a scientific calculator that or an text rpg.

Hehe no problem although if you don't mind me asking was the useful tip making a calculator for class to avoid paying the extremely overpriced pieces of plastic. I mean I don't want to rant or anything but seriously if you can make the calculator obviously you know how to do the math

hmmmmm text rpg would be rather fun to do. i think i shall in a bit when i get a bit more experience under my belt
then from there i want to pester halls for FS 2.0 source and take a look at that thing.
